Good Morning Britain is ITV’s flagship breakfast show, covering the big news stories of the day on ITV1 on weekdays between 6am and 9am.
Andi Peters is usually in charge of competition segments, and is highly popular with viewers – especially when appearing live rather than in pre-recorded segments.
He also leads the promotions for the biggest cash prizes on ITV, launching them on Good Morning Britain.
Common prizes Andi gives away across GMB and Lorraine include cash, holidays, cars and motorhomes.
When live, he’s often seen interacting with the main presenters, who appear on rotation, with common faces including:
- Susanna Reid
- Adil Ray
- Charlotte Hawkins
- Kate Garraway
- Ranvir Singh
- Ed Balls
- Sean Fletcher
- Richard Madeley
- Robert Rinder
- Martin Lewis
- Marverine Cole
Opportunities to win big prizes are a staple feature of the show, generally promoted by King of Competitions, Andi Peters. Almost all of their draws feature a large wad of cash as the prize, and often also have an extra high value prize element too, such as a holiday, car or motorhome.
Competitions on GMB can be entered online via ITV Win, or alternatively by phone, text message or post. Entries usually cost £2, or are free via the postal entry route.
The Current Good Morning Britain Competition
The most recent competition to feature on GMB is a chance to win £120,000 cash.
Entry Routes To Win £120,000 cash
Viewers can enter through either paid or free entry routes as follows:
Phone | £2.00 |
Text (SMS) | £2.00 |

Closing Dates For Entering To Win £120,000 cash
Due to the time it takes for entries to reach the promoters, the closing dates can vary for entries to arrive. Generally, the paid entries (namely online, phone and text messages) all close together, with the postal entries having to arrive up to six days later. These timescales do vary from time to time, so here’s the £120,000 cash specific closing times:
Phone | 17th May 2024 at 2:00pm |
Text (SMS) | 17th May 2024 at 2:00pm |
Online | 17th May 2024 at 2:00pm |
Post | 23rd May 2024 at 4:00pm |
How To Enter This Week’s GMB Competition
Now you know how much an entry will cost and when you have to enter by, let’s move on to how to actually enter.
To be in with a chance of winning the prize of £120,000 cash, here’s the details you need…
GMB Competition Phone Number
To enter by phone, you can call 09068 78 5557 before the closing date of 17th May 2024 at 2:00pm.
Calls will cost £2.00 plus any associated charges by your phone operator – referred to as the network access charge on the TV trailers. You can see full terms and conditions on the website by following the link in the Online Entry section below.
GMB Competition Text Number
For text message entries, you’ll need to send a normal SMS text message from your mobile phone to 65557, containing the message WINNER.
If you simply send the word WINNER, you’ll enter the draw and agree to receive promotions about future competitions from ITV Win. If you’d rather not agree to those messages and just enter the competition, you can add NO INFO on to the end of the message, so the whole message would read WINNER NO INFO when you send it.
The text will cost you £2.00, plus your standard (out of allowance) SMS message cost. As with the phone entry, make sure your entry is sent before the competition closes on 17th May 2024 at 2:00pm.
GMB Competition Online Entry
The quickest, and arguably the best way to enter if you’re paying for your entry is to use the ITV website.
Online entries also qualify for 20 bonus tokens per paid entry, which can be used for entering addition competitions on the ITV Win portal. In addition, you’ll get a Winsday ticket for each paid entry you buy, up to a maximum of 30 per week.
You’ll often find details of bonus entries when you enter online, for example entering a three times might get you an extra three entries for free in the draw, effectively doubling your chances.
When you press the ‘Enter Online Now’ button, you’ll see the extras listed when you choose how many entries you’d like, so be sure to read them carefully to understand what you’re buying and how much it will be costing.
In addition, think carefully, as it’s easy to be tempted in the heat of the moment to buy extra entries, so if you’re impulsive by nature, think ahead about what you’re prepared to spend!
You can find the online entry page here, which is also where you’ll find the link to the competition terms and conditions (just beneath the blue ‘enter online now’ button).
Another great thing about the online option to enter over the phone and text alternatives is that the competition simply disappears when it closes, so it’s far less likely that you’ll pay for an entry that doesn’t count. You’ve heard the spiel – you will not be entered but you may still be charged.
It’s still worth noting the closing time for online entries though – it’s 17th May 2024 at 2:00pm.
GMB Competition Postal Entry
Finally, let’s get to the ‘free’ entry option for the current competition to win £120,000 cash.
We put free in inverted commas because you’ll need a stamp, a piece of paper and an envelope to lodge your entry, which isn’t really free.
Going back in time, you used to be able to enter ITV’s big competitions for free through the website, and the phone and text entries were the paid options, but it’s easy to see why they changed it.
Competitions are a big money spinner for ITV and other companies running them, and online entries are really easy to lodge. For that reason (and to comply with the law on prize draws), the free route changed to a postal entry and the online method became paid to match the phone and SMS options.
It is quite easy to use the postal entry route though, you just need to put a little effort in. Simply write your name and phone number on a slip of paper, pop it into an envelope and send it to:
BK 16
PO Box 7558
Derby
DE1 0NQ
You’ll need a first or second class stamp on the envelope as it’s not a Freepost address, and post it in time to arrive before the closing date of 23rd May 2024 at 4:00pm.
How To Enter Summary
Let’s bring all of that together in a simple table:
